Before You Start

Info

Before you can withdraw to a bank account, make sure you have the following:

  • A verified Peanut account. Bank withdrawals require identity verification. You will need a passport or national ID card, and the process takes under 2 minutes for most users. See the verification guide for details.
  • A bank account in a supported region. SEPA: 41 European countries. ACH: United States. SPEI: Mexico. Faster Payments: United Kingdom.
  • Your bank details ready. For SEPA, you will need your IBAN. For ACH, you will need your routing number and account number. For SPEI, you will need your 18-digit CLABE. For Faster Payments, you will need your 6-digit sort code and 8-digit UK account number.
  • Name match. The name on your bank account must match the name on your Peanut account. UK banks additionally run Confirmation of Payee (CoP) checks on the beneficiary name.

You can save multiple bank accounts in the app, so you only need to enter your details once.

Transactions above $100,000 USD equivalent may trigger a manual review for additional verification, but there is no hard cap on how much you can withdraw via SEPA, ACH, SPEI, or Faster Payments.

For users in Latin America outside Mexico (Argentina, Brazil), fiat operations are subject to a combined $2,000 USD monthly limit across deposits, withdrawals, and payments. This limit can be increased with additional documentation.

For the complete fee schedule, see the pricing page.

Processing Times

How quickly your withdrawal arrives depends on which rail you use and when you initiate it.

SEPA

  • Typical processing time: Under 20 minutes (90% of transfers).
  • Maximum processing time: Up to 1 business day.
  • Business days only: Yes. Transfers initiated outside business hours may take longer.
  • Tip: If your bank supports SEPA Instant, your withdrawal may arrive even faster.

ACH

  • Typical processing time: 1 to 3 business days.
  • Business days only: Yes. ACH does not process on weekends or US federal holidays.
  • Tip: Initiate your withdrawal early in the day on a weekday for the fastest processing.

SPEI

  • Typical processing time: Seconds. Banxico targets under 30 seconds end-to-end.
  • Business days only: No. SPEI runs 24/7/365, including weekends and Mexican public holidays.
  • Tip: Double-check the 18-digit CLABE — wrong CLABEs are auto-returned, but reconciliation can take 1–5 business days.

Faster Payments

  • Typical processing time: Under 15 seconds. The scheme target is under 2 hours end-to-end; in practice the vast majority arrive in seconds.
  • Business days only: No. Faster Payments runs 24/7/365, including weekends and UK public holidays.
  • Tip: Double-check the 6-digit sort code and 8-digit account number. UK banks run Confirmation of Payee (CoP) on the beneficiary name — a mismatch triggers a warning but does not block the transfer. Wrong sort code or account number typically auto-returns within 1–3 business days.

If a bank withdrawal fails for any reason, your balance is automatically re-credited — usually within 1 day. You cannot cancel a pending withdrawal once it has been confirmed.

FAQ

How long does a bank withdrawal from Peanut take?+

SEPA withdrawals to European bank accounts arrive in under 20 minutes for 90% of transfers, with a maximum of 1 business day. ACH withdrawals to US bank accounts take 1 to 3 business days and only process on business days. SPEI withdrawals to Mexican CLABE accounts settle in seconds and run 24/7/365. Faster Payments withdrawals to UK bank accounts also settle in seconds (typically under 15 seconds) and run 24/7/365 — no business-day cutoff for either.

What fees does Peanut charge for bank withdrawals?+

Peanut charges no fees on bank withdrawals — SEPA, ACH, SPEI, and Faster Payments are all free. Your bank may charge its own incoming transfer fees, but most European banks accept SEPA deposits at no cost, US banks accept ACH deposits at no cost, Mexican retail banks accept SPEI deposits for free or for a small fee (typically MXN 0–11), and almost every UK retail and digital bank accepts Faster Payments deposits at no cost for personal accounts.

What is the minimum withdrawal amount?+

There is no minimum. You can withdraw any amount from your Peanut balance to your bank account via SEPA, ACH, SPEI, or Faster Payments.

Can I withdraw to a bank account from any country?+

Bank withdrawals are available in four regions: the SEPA zone (41 European countries, EUR via SEPA), the United States (USD via ACH), Mexico (MXN via SPEI to an 18-digit CLABE), and the United Kingdom (GBP via Faster Payments to a sort code + 8-digit account number). You must have a bank account in one of these regions to withdraw via bank transfer. If you are outside these regions, you can withdraw to a wallet instead.

What happens if my bank withdrawal fails?+

If a withdrawal fails — for example, due to incorrect bank details, a wrong CLABE, or a wrong UK sort code — your Peanut balance is automatically re-credited. This typically happens within 1 day for SEPA and ACH, within 1–5 business days for SPEI returns from a wrong CLABE, and within 1–3 business days for Faster Payments returns. You cannot cancel a pending withdrawal once it has been confirmed.

What is Confirmation of Payee on UK Faster Payments?+

Confirmation of Payee (CoP) is an overlay that UK banks (about 99% coverage) run during a Faster Payments transfer. It checks whether the beneficiary name you entered matches the account holder at the receiving bank. A mismatch triggers a warning to you — close match, no match, account not found, or unsupported — but does not block the transfer. CoP is the primary defence against misdirected and authorised push payment (APP) fraud.
